Proverbs 1:7-19 pg 707
Enticement of sinners
V 7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”
A fool is a person that doesn’t use good wisdom, who does their own thing, with no regard for others or how they feel, has no respect for the law or cares about God. I wonder how they were raised. Were they yelled at, cussed at, hit & so they are doing this as an adult. I think in order to be a good adult you have to have some good instruction as a child. Not just told what to do but why it is best to do it. I don’t think a person has to have God in their life to be good, but for me it sure helps. Children need to be protected by adults & given good rules & lots of love. God will always love & protect children & if they die they go right to heaven.
Proverbs 2:1-8 pg 708
Wisdom for the upright
Do we really seek God’s wisdom & when we do, do we use it? “Let them seek, and they shall find it; let them ask, and it shall be given them.” If we depend upon God, & seek him for wisdom, he will help us to keep the paths of judgment. If we are truly wise, we shall be careful to avoid all evil company & evil practices. When we have wisdom it fills the head, & enters the heart, & helps to keep us from corruption. Sin puts us in darkness & we take pleasure in sin.
Proverbs 3 pg 709
Wisdom brings blessings
In believing in God & obeying the commandments peace will be enjoyed, we shall live forever in heaven. God shows mercy in his promises & performs what he says. We must trust in the Lord with all our hearts, believing he is able & wise to do what is best. We must acknowledge God with thankfulness. It is promised, He shall direct thy paths; so that thy way shall be safe and good, and happy at last.
