Promise of a son
The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, so the Lord delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for 40 yrs. Now that’s along time to be punished. We still are mean to this today, how dumb are we? This lady was sterile & God was ready to bless her so he told her what not to eat & drink to keep her body healthy for a good delivery. The boy (Samson) was to be given to God from birth cause he was going to deliver Israel from the hand of the Philistines. We do this in church when our children are small but how far do we carry it out? To many times we stop going to church & then don’t even take them to church.
V 24: Wouldn’t it be nice if our youth was in tune with God & there was evidence that the Spirit of the Lord moved in them? That our kids wouldn’t drink any alcohol or do any drugs or have sex till married?

Secret of Samson’s strength revealed to Delilah
Isn’t it sad that our own family will take advantage of us as Delilah did her own husband. Samson let the love of women get him into trouble & danger more than once. He gave his life for the pleasures of sin. Not a smart thing to do. We could learn some useful lessons from this story but will we?

Unforgiving
Christians are sometimes unforgiving & this makes division & hinders the success of the ministry. In this wisdom is to be used so the ministry may not be blamed for our sin. Satan has many plans to deceive, & knows how to make a bad use of our mistakes.
