Poor Moses/Jesus

Exodus 6: 1-12, 7: 1-7, 8: 16-19
The Israelites wanted out of Egypt but were afraid and they didn’t have much faith in Moses. It sounded like Moses didn’t trust himself much either. Why did God harden Pharaoh’s heart & God told Moses He was going to do it? God was working on his covenant with the Israelites, but I don’t get it.
Lk 23: 32-34
Did God plan this, putting Jesus with 2 criminals so they would have a chance for heaven?
Even at His crucifixion Jesus was caring about others “Father, forgive then for they do not know what they are doing.”
